Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev claimed his first title for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-term mentor Cervara.

Currently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's maiden championship after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt since spring of that year.

Success also signifies he has won 21 titles at 21 distinct events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my children at once, so to secure a trophy is really nice," said world number 14 the champion.

"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six finals, including in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and frequent emotional displays on court had led commentators to question if his ability to compete at the elite level was finished.

But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an better serving game.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional championship, gained dominance to push for a final set.

Moutet saved four early opportunities in a tight third set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet unable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
